Playgroup is an opportunity for parents of pre-schoolers to have their children play in a safe and friendly environment while you have a cuppa and a chat with other mothers experiencing the same things (or who have, and can give advice).  Making the environment welcoming and safe is an important aspect for SunRanges Twins Plus Inc members.  Parents of new walkers often feel getting out with toddlers a daunting experience, to know that someone else who has experienced this will be there to meet you is a reassuring thought for mums.

For more information on Playgroups or the New and Expectant Parent Coffee Morning please contact the club on 9513 0035.

Monthly Member Meetings
Monthly meetings are not just for the Committee we encourage everyone to come along and take an active part in the running of your club.

Rays of Sunshine - Monthly Newsletter
Every family receives a copy of our monthly newsletter called 'Rays of Sunshine' filled with information about the Club's social events, personal stories, research, case studies, kids activities, discounts and donations.  We also keep you updated on playgroup activities, new arrivals, new members, birthdays, AMBA State and National Items and any other items of interest.  We encourage all members to send in information or story ideas for the newsletter or perhaps try their hand at writing an article.

Resource Library
The resource library has a great range of reference books for multiples of all ages, videos, personal stories, newsletters, information flyers and booklets as well as reports, magazines and much much more.

Clothing Library
The cost of purchasing clothes for two or more children in the one size can add up so SunRanges Twins Plus Inc has established a clothing library of 00000 and 0000 baby clothes that people can borrow.  Babies go through these sizes so quickly if we can share the resources around it saves our members outlaying for items they only use for a small amount of time.

Our clothing library also has maternity wear for mums to borrow during those final months when you need clothes to fit but put off purchasing due to the expense and the small amount of time you wear them.

Discounts
SunRanges Twins Plus Inc. actively seeks local businesses to offer members of AMBA  discounts and special offers.  Each club does this in their own area providing all AMBA members an extensive list of businesses across the nation who offer discounts upon presentation of your AMBA membership card.

Clothing Swaps
Clothing Swaps are run at regular intervals at Playgroups and New and Expectant Parent Coffee Mornings.  The idea is people who have clothing that their children have grown out of, bring them along and swap them with other members who have a larger size in which their children have grown out of.  The remaining clothes are then sent to a charity of choice.

Classifieds
Members can have the opportunity to advertise any items for sale or free to good home in the monthly newsletter as well as on our website free of charge.  Advertisements run for a period of two months unless sold first.

Fundraising
As a not-for-profit club fundraising is an integral part of our annual income.  We regulary run the following fundraiser:
  • lollies, slices and pie drives, SPC
  • Shopping Tour
    Trivia Night
  • Toy Catalogues (Chalk, Parent Direct and Educational Experience) in August each year
  • Identity Direct (personalised items eg pencils, bags, stamps etc) is an ongoing fundraiser where you order when you like and just quote the club number.

SunRanges Twins Plus Inc. proudly hosted the
2009 AMBA Vic AGM
Saturday 16th May 2009

The 2009 AMBA Vic AGM hosted by SunRanges Twins Plus Inc. was an outstanding success.  The scene was set from the moment guests walked in at Macedon Spa Conferance Centre and saw the beautiful view of theMacedonRanges, given a fabulous bright purple Contours goodie bag and a folder that was the height of professionalism.

The day got under way with a brief introduction by the host club followed by an update on the Publications available from AMBA National.  The first of the guest speakers was Shiona Long, Life Coach and owner of Authentic Success.  Shiona presented a very interesting, thought provoking speech about wearing the various hats in our life and the most important one is the ME hat which should be worn daily. Check out Shiona's website www.authenticsuccess.com.au

Following Shiona we had a brief morning tea break with delicious scones with jam and cream ready for our celebrity speaker Nicole Livingstone.  Nicole spoke about her career in the pool and how that did not compare to the challenges of parenting multiples.  Nicole has 6.5 year old boy/girl twins and a 17 month old boy.  She also spoke about the competitiveness in multiples and the importance of physical activity in children.  She was very open, honest and real about her parenting journey and very easy to listen to.

Following Nicole we had some club sharing which gave delegates an insight into what other clubs do with equipment hire, grants, record keeping and also insurance.  Following this we had a group photo and then lunch yummy chicken schnitzels, chips, salad and vegetarian pasta.

The afternoon session was all about the AGM and electing a new committee however we did find time for a birthday cake to celebrate SunRanges Twins Plus Inc. 10 year anniversary.  This was a lovely honeycomb ice cream cake donated by Wendy's in Melton. Our 3 Life Members in attendance did the honours of cutting the first slice.

Each guest in attendance received a wonderful pair of briefs which they could select the colour, style and size proudly donated by Bodywise in Woodend (www.bodywise.com.au) as well as lots of gifts in their goodie bags.  We had lots of spot prizes for the day which we had lots of lucky recipients.  Check out our sponsors page for details of our wonderful donators who supported this event.

Thank you to everyone who came along to the AGM it was a fabulous day with lots of networking, club sharing and best of all parents of multiples enjoying a good time. A huge thank you must also go to the planning committee; the day was pulled off without a hitch. Well done!
